Aristotle University of Thessaloniki

AUTh is the largest university in Greece, with 11 Faculties organized into 40 Schools. Almost 73,930 under- and postgraduate students’ study at the Aristotle University, the Teaching and Research Staff numbers 2,500 people. 

AUTh holds 146 International Scientific Agreements with Universities in Russia, U.S.A., Canada, Australia, the Near, Middle and Far East. Also, it has currently approximately 538 bilateral agreements with European Universities, and it has supported the implementation of TEMPUS, JEAN MONNET projects, etc. It also participates actively in several ERASMUS MUNDUS Action 1 & 2 consortia. AUTh ranks first among Greek higher education institutions in terms of mobility. In addition, since 2015, Aristotle University runs an Erasmus+ ICM programme in the framework of which 60 agreements have been signed with universities in 29 countries all over the world. AUTh participates in 25 HORIZON 2020 projects in diverse research areas.

Ever mindful of rapid change and progress, AUTh constantly update its strategy, policies and everyday practices, in order to meet contemporary local and global demands. The University has been able to determine its strengths and weaknesses and to adopt a holistic internationalization strategy. 

AUTh’s Research Policy has two main objectives: first to promote quality and then to foster excellence. Having the quality as a priority and driven by the principals of measurement, correction, evaluation and redefinition, the University aims at its distinction in the international research arena.

MALTA BOWLING ASSOCIATION (M.B.A)

The association was founded in 1975. The M.B.A. is a non-profit making representative, legislative and executive body with complete and final jurisdiction over affiliated members, leagues and tournaments which it organizes and/or sanctions. 

The purpose of this Association to promote and foster the game of Bowling by: 1) Uniting the members of leagues, teams and individuals within its jurisdiction, 2) Encouraging sportsmanship and fair play, 3) Enforcing the playing rules, 4) Issuing and regulating sanctions for league and tournament competition, 5) Enforcing bowling equipment specifications, and issuing and regulating Certificates to bowling centre owners or lessees, should it have the competent/qualified personnel to undertake this task, 6) Collecting established fees, 7) Conducting all National Leagues that are required by the Members, comprising as many Divisions as are necessary, as well as any other Leagues and Tournaments, amongst which MUST be an annual National Tournament to determine the individual champions for the country, on a scratch and handicap basis, as well as at an Intermediate and Seniors’ category level. 8) Promoting and give opportunity the partecipation in any competition without difference on gender, race and intellectual / phisical disability, 9) Representing Malta in International Events

TEN PIN Club

TEN PIN Club will provide the necessary context for testing the educational material and the software and devices that will be provided by Aristotle University. In addition we will interact with MBA in order to transfer knowledge and experiences in the use of the above and will support them in disseminating the results. TEN PIN Club has a continuous sports activity since its establishment in 2005 and ogranizes a year-long internal chambionship with the participation of 20-25 athletes. Certain players are already experienced with the use of wearables while bowling. TEN PIN Club activities take place in a bowling stadium with the officially registered owners’ permission, guaranteeing the availability of the place throughout the project timeline.

Although this is the first time the Club perticipates in the Erasmus programme, the Director of the Club has a 35 years experience with EU project participation and management. These include various Erasmus projects, guaranteeing the effective involvement of TEN PIN Club in the proposed project.
